Scotland Trinity Presbyterian Church is a growing, multi-generational church, building on a foundation of solid Bible teaching and small group fellowship. We are seeking a worship leader for both contemporary and traditional services. BA in music preferred. BA in Worship Leadership considered if candidate has strong academic music background. Part-time position with possible expansion.
Job Description
The Worship Leader shall work in concert with the Scotland Trinity worship team to prepare our hearts for worship. Our worship leader must have a passion for worship, a growing faith in Christ, strong musical background, and creativity in planning both traditional and contemporary styles of worship services. The Worship Leader will develop and integrate worship arts to support sermon objectives. This position reports to the Scotland Trinity Pastor.
Responsibilities
-Responsible for recruiting and cultivating persons with musical skills as
they are needed for the
church, including visiting prospective volunteers and choir members.
-Enthusiastically lead congregational singing.
-Attend committee meetings and session meetings as requested as a resource and
for
informational purposes.
-Serve on the Scotland Trinity Worship Committee and oversee the worship
committee budget.
-Demonstrate proficiency in a variety of worship arts.
-Effectively integrate worship arts to align with sermon objectives.
-Actively participate in strategic planning sessions of the church.
-Coordinate with pastor in choosing music and the order of the worship service.
-Encourage participation and growth within the music ministry.
-Must possess rudimentary music theory skills, including ability to perform
music from printed notation.
-Maintain music library, materials, supplies, musical instruments and other
equipment.
-Coordinate audiovisual technology, including equipment use, care, training
and volunteer assistance.
-Set annual goals for the worship ministry and evaluate how these goals are
attained or modified over the course of the year.
-Maintain an authentic and growing walk with Jesus Christ through the ongoing
spiritual disciplines of Bible reading, prayer, personal worship and small
group study at Scotland Trinity.
