Mission Description
Job Title: Center Director
Reports to: Regional Facilitator
Summary:
The Center Director identifies at-risk children and families with specific difficulties, working to connect them to the local church for the purpose of seeing them become Christ-changed, hope-filled, productive adults. The Center Director accomplishes this through the oversight and implementation of all elements of a KidTrek Center, some of which may include, but not limited to, the Core and GAP Ministries.
RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES:
Core Ministry
Develop relationships with five children, their primary nurturers, and the rest of the family.
Develop, maintain, and improve upon relationships with schools (administration, counselors, teachers, etc.), social service professionals, and government agencies for purpose of being able to better assist families with various needs.
Fold each family into the body of the local church.
GAP Ministry
Develop a weekly Outreach night to kids in the community who are not part of the Core Ministry.
Train/coach church members to become secondary nurturers (1 family : 1 family); teaching them how to walk with an at-risk family through life.
Administrative
Maintain annual budget, including monthly expenditure reports.
Maintain a clean, orderly, and inviting Center.
Submit a weekly report each Friday.
Oversee maintenance and ordering of supplies.
Collect and submit staff timesheets to Regional Office.
Management
Oversee the operations of the after school program for the Core Ministry.
o Prepare, implement, and review KidTrek curriculum.
o Pray daily over ministry needs.
o Prepare, implement and review quality homework & tutoring time.
Oversee home and school meetings of all kids.
Oversee the provision and implementation of Family Services.
Conduct weekly staff meetings.
Supervise KidTrek staff.
Communication
Meet weekly with church liaison to KidTrek (also, as needed, meet with pastor and/or church leadership) for regular updates and assistance with making connections to church and community.
Oversee the creation of posters, flyers, permission slips, and other materials using KidTreks name or logo.
Check, review, and respond to e-mail and phone messages daily.
ABILITIES, SKILLS and CHARACTER:
Consistently demonstrates knowledge and/or ability in the following areas:
Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of the Gospel.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships with children, and their primary nurturers, with confidence.
Ability to participate and provide physical activity for youth of all ages; ability to lift approximately 20-25 lbs.
Basic comprehension of doctrine, creeds, and confessions of faith for particular church assigned.
