Job Description:
Immediate Supervisor: Senior Pastor Compensation: DOE Minimum Educational Requirement: Bachelor's Degree We are seeking a Youth Pastor who can build and establish relationships with, and skillfully disciple 7th through 12th graders within a multi-cultural setting. Job Duties: 1. Interpret, explain, and proclaim the Word of God in a clear and concise manner. 2. Oversee all aspects of FBC's youth ministry. 3. Teach and lead prayer for youth workers, youth, and their famlies. 4. Pray fervently for the youth and their families while maintaining a healthy and nurturing relationship with parents. 5. Prepare and lead Bible studies for youth and families. 6. Create opportunities for discipleship, mentorship and leadership for students as well as families through small groups, service opportunities, and targeted training. 7. Serve in the community by participating in outreach activities and events, and training students and workers to do the same. 8. Lead, train and develop the youth ministry's youth workers to biblically interpret and explain the Word of God. 9. Provide a variety of opportunities for youth and youth workers to participate in worship services. 10. Provide local and abroad mission trip opportunities, and lead youth and workers on these trips. 11. Lead youth services as well as periodic services. 12. May lead services in Sr. Pastor's absence. 13. Find joy in encouraging youth workers of all ages in their vital roles as spritiual leaders to be used by God to shape youth in the image of Christ.
