More specifically the position includes:
1. Set up and operation of sound for worship services and any other activities in the church sanctuary including rehearsals, sound checks, etc. This will include weddings, funerals, school musicals, etc. The candidate may enlist, train, and supervise volunteers for some of these events.
2. Set up and operation of audio-visual equipment as needed for smaller group meetings in classrooms, fellowship hall, Memorial Chapel, etc. These setups may include audio systems, tv/vcr, projectors/screens, video recording (single camcorder usually) and occasionally simple lighting for videotaping.
3. Remixing of worship service audio for broadcast or other recordings, preparation of click tracks for music department, preparation of rehearsal tracks for music department, etc.
4. Assistance on video shoots both on and off campus.
5. Assistance with lighting in sanctuary (aim and focus, relamping, etc.) and acquisition of special effects for theatrical productions.
6. Management of equipment inventory and initial troubleshooting of problems, contact with repair shops and handling of details for equipment repairs.
In addition to audio mixing skills, knowledge of computers and networking is a plus, as well as graphics programs, specifically Photoshop. Video editing experience is also a plus, but not required. Candidate should have excellent people skills and be a team player.
