Westerville, OH Posted on: March 26, 2005   Job Description: Associate Director of Music Ministries (Westerville, OH 43081) Church of the Messiah UMC in Westerville, OH is searching for a dynamic and gifted leader and team player for this 2,600 member United Methodist congregation’s worship and music ministries. An individual with a passion for & proven experience within these three areas: 1. WORSHIP DESIGN AND LEADING: a desire to foster creativity in worship along with theological integrity and sensitivity to move our multi-generational congregation forward while honoring individuals in the journey within many styles of worship and music. 2. YOUTH: gifts and graces and a desire to work with Youth in developing their faith through our Youth choirs, our Youth AMP Band including and expanding in all styles. 3. HANDBELLS: Leading Handbell choirs and others who love the art of ringing to a standard of excellence in Christian community . . . ministry and performance. We are seeking a new Associate Director of Music with experience demonstrating ·a vibrant personal faith in God ·commitment to scriptural study and learning ·familiarity and respect for the United Methodist Church ·excellent musicianship ·either strong keyboard/instrumental skills or strong vocal skills -an ability to embrace people outside their own understandings of faith ·a personality which is open and warm ·a strong and professional work ethic ·success in supervising others ·an ability to work on a team; work toward team goals and plan w/ their teammates in mind ·a humble and servant heart Equipment and Facilities: “Messiah” has a 6 octave Concert set of Schulmerich bells with a C2 – then starting at G2-C8 Newly refurbished 5 octave and 3 octave set of Schulmerich handbells and a 5 octave set of Schulmerich Melody Chimes and 4 octave set of Malmark Handchimes.
