Job Description:
· Present Jesus to middle and high school students o Create, promote, and lead intentional opportunities to present the gospel through evangelistic outreach events § Summer ministries and camps § Community events through the year o Create and lead a monthly worship service geared directly at students o Build relationships with high school and middle school students on their turf o Give students an opportunity to be known and cared for through small groups · Develop and oversee our “Under 24” group (young adult ministry) · Develop, lead, and train a team(s) of people to be in ministry with Middle School and High School students o Oversee and direct youth administrator o Share the overall mission through Oversight and planning o Model and teach relational ministry to the team o Empower people to do ministry with students o Oversee and direct C-Group leaders (C-Groups are “connect groups” or senior high small groups), Sunday small group leaders, Middle School Small Group leaders o Encourage and direct students to serve in ministry · Help implement the larger Vision of Riverside Church o Committed to “teamwork” and the mission of the whole church over individual areas of responsibility o Use his/her gifts and passions in areas other than youth ministries to connect to the entire congregation, possibilities include: § Worship Leadership § Sound and media § Preaching § Teaching Adults or Children § Pastoral Care

· A personal relationship with and a strong, enthusiastic commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior · An obvious and infectious love of Jesus Christ · A calling and passion for a ministry to students · A sense of humor · Ability to communicate and teach large groups of students · Knowledge and love of scripture · Knowledge of student issues both cultural and developmental across the target age group · Resourcefulness in working with all types of volunteers · Proven ability to be creative and innovative · A strong commitment to evangelism and a proven ability to introduce people to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
