Job Description:
Executive Director/Pastor. University United Methodist Church and Student Center, Gainesville; a unique combination of Wesley Foundation and multi-generational congregation, part of the Florida United Methodist Church Conference. Responsibilities include: constructing and leading an all-encompassing, Christ-centered ministry that will reach out to college-aged students, encouraging them to develop a relationship with Jesus through passionate worship, biblical teaching, genuine fellowship, community outreach, and personal discipleship. The Executive Director/Pastor will be the Campus Minister for the Wesley Foundation and the Pastor of the church. The position also requires administration of church and student center facilities; management of financial health through preparation of budgets, marketing, and fund-raising; and development of partnerships with the local academic and residential community.
UUMC & SC seeks, “[t]o build a spiritually dynamic, multi-generational Christian community focused on calling college students to be followers and disciples of Christ, servants to the world, and leaders and active supporters of the church.”
The successful candidate will be an ordained minister, possess knowledge of and commitment to the United Methodist Church, have relevant experience including evidence of previous creative and visionary leadership, and have excellent skills for equipping and facilitating student and congregational leadership. Masters degree required. Housing provided in residential neighborhood. Pay commensurate with experience; excellent benefits. EOE.
