Job Description:
Christ the King Lutheran Church, a congregation of approximately two thousand, has a wonderful opportunity for a full time Music Director. The Music Director will be responsible for the development, staffing, administration, coordination and implementation of the entire music program. The position will include leadership of paid and volunteer staff. The Music Director will provide worship leadership and be an education resource in the area of traditional liturgical and non-traditional/contemporary music and the role of all genres of music at Christ the King.
The qualified candidate should have a strong commitment to Christ, a college or conservatory degree, and preferably a graduate degree. Experience in the coordination and supervision of a varied music program in a large church setting is required. The candidate should possess skills in conducting voice groups, instrumental and hand bell ensembles. Prior experience and knowledge of Lutheran tradition, liturgy, and other forms of worship styles is preferred but not required.
