Music Ministry Coordinator Responsibilities:
The music ministry coordinator provides leadership to the musical programs at First Baptist Church. In this musically talented and diverse congregation, there are a broad range of musical events throughout the life of the church. The list below defines some of the specific responsibilities.
This position is approx. 25 hours per week with competitive salary depending on experience. The church has a sanctuary with wonderful acoustics, a new grand piano, bells for the bell choir, and a music library. Two distinct worship services on Sunday morning provide the congregation with a choice of a traditional/classical style or a contemporary/popular flavor.
With the help from the congregation the music ministry coordinator:
Leads the Kids Choral music group.
Leads the Chancel Choir singing group for the first worship service weighted towards traditional/classical style of music
Leads the Vocal Ensemble singing group for the second worship service weighted towards contemporary/popular style of music.
Coordinates guest musical performances for worship services.
Finds, adapts, creates, and arranges contemporary music pieces for the contemporary service.
Organizes retreats, training, and outreach musical events.
Coordinates with technical team for audio video equipment setup prior to service.

Has the ability to recruit members of the congregation for music programs.
Understands the flow of worship.
Possesses strong organizational skills
Has proficient communication skills
Can vocally lead the congregation in song and conduct other musical groups.
Is available Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings.

This is the debut album by EXW friend Paul Langford. Paul is a Chicago based singer, arranger, keyboardist, producer and conductor. Paul has a career that spans 14 years. Paul's work includes arranging for groups like GLAD, Voices of Liberty, VoiceTrek, The Chicago based "Caroling Party" and Day of Discovery Singers. His arranging has appeared on recordings side by side with greats like Gene Puerling and David Maddux, and he has sung with Don Shelton, Bonnie Herman and Bob Bowker, among others.
