Job Description:
Resurrection Lutheran Church is located in Scottsdale, Az worshipping approximately 400 per week. We are a caring Christian community offering healing and hope through Jesus Christ by reaching out, making disciples and sharing a Christ-centered community with all people. Our mission is to develop disciples through Bible teaching, worship, Christian service, prayer, personal witness and invitation, and small group Christian community. We also seek to empower leadership through mentoring and encouragement to serve and lead in areas of spiritual giftedness. Through our mission and strong leadership, we seek to share the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ with our community and world.
Function: The Director of Children's Ministries has overall responsibility for the ministry to children (from birth through 6th grade) and their families. This person will supervise, direct and evaluate all such children's programs.
Qualifications: --Strong person of faith --Passion for children, family and faith --Strong people and administrative skills --Professional/College Degree/Teaching Experience --Proven leadership skills and the ability to influence others --Person of vision
Supervision: The Director of Children's Ministries reports to the Pastors and works with the staff of Resurrection Lutheran Church.
Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Manage and facilitate all programs directed at children and families from infancy through grade 6, including and overseeing the Director of the Preschool. The current Children's Ministry programms include: Milestones; Sunday School; Vacation Bible School; summer camp; K-6th grade fellowship and discipleship activities. 2. Empower and equip the Children's Ministry team, Children's Ministry leaders and Preschool. 3. Active member of Resurrection staff and the Preschool board. 4. Evaluate and/or develop new materials for teaching and communicating with elementary age children. 5. Develop promotional materials to advertise and promote Children's Ministry programs. 6. Promote the Preschool within the Church and community. 7. Develop and manage the budgets for the Children's Ministry and Preschool programs.
Administrative: 12 month/full-time salary and benefits package.
