Apply for This Job Children's Discipleship Director Champion Fellowship Brenham, TX Posted: June 13, 2018     Job Information: Children's Discipleship Director The Children's Discipleship Director (CDD) will provide leadership for the spiritual nurturing and growth of the children and families of Champion Fellowship in Brenham, TX. A general overview of the four primary areas of ministry responsibility are: Sunday morning and Wednesday evening Children's Ministry activities. o Recruiting, training, coordinating, and providing necessary resources for volunteers. o Review, acquire and distribute necessary curriculum. o Ensure child-safety procedures are followed such as check-in, area access, etc. o Frequently communicate with and when necessary meet with parents about pertinent aspects of the ministry. o Effectively communicate the overall ministry vision in various settings as needed. Summer camp & VBS. o Research various campsite/activities that provide spiritual enrichment to children of Champion Fellowship. Follow up with reservation of and registration for the camp as well as recruit necessary volunteer-leaders. o Research upcoming VBS themes that best support the vision of Champion Fellowship. Promotion of and recruitment for this with plenty of time for full staffing to shepherd the children who participate. Childcare needs for all ministry activities. o Recruit and staff paid and volunteer workers to provide childcare for various ministry requirements. o Ensure the adult leaders, as well as the children, have necessary resources. Special events for children and families throughout the year - Provide necessary oversight for events that come up from time to time The Children's Ministry strives to bring the children and families deeper within the overall ministry of Champion Fellowship as committed followers of Jesus Christ. This ministry works with all other ministries to achieve this objective. The CDD reports to the Children's Ministry Director but will function with minimal oversight, meet regularly with the Children's Ministry Director for ministry coordination, and provide ministry updates at the weekly staff meeting as well as the yearly business meeting and other times as necessary. The following personal and professional qualities are essential for this ministry position: be a believer in Jesus Christ with the ability to share their testimony of that relationship in any setting. demonstrate mature Christian wisdom and character in their personal and private life to include all forms of social media. be active in their church through attendance and ministry service. be able to effectively work with children and their parents/guardians promoting leadership and Christian principles. be able to work with and excel in a team-approach ministry alongside other church activities and community interaction. be an excellent public speaker with great administrative skills. works well in a staff-team-approach environment. be able to submit input for and manage a ministry budget with prudent and responsible church credit card use.
