Direct Supervisor: Pastor
Reports to: Pastor and Staff Pastor Parish Relations Committee
Coordinates with: Accompanist, Worship Committee, Sound Coordinator and 8:30 Praise Team Leader
Job Duties:
Nurtures the spiritual growth of choir members.
Fosters the congregation's spiritual enrichment through the ministry of music and ensures that music program is dedicated to the glory of God.
Directs the 11:00 am Chancel Choir and leads the accompanist and volunteer choir members.
Coordinates with the accompanist to achieve appropriate musical results
Rehearses with the Choir once during the week and briefly before 11:00 worship and any other performances.
Teaching choral techniques to provide continued growth of choir member abilities.
Participates in regular meetings with Pastor to discuss music program. Researches and recommends appropriate music for 11:00 worship services and special services (Ash Wednesday, Christmas Eve, etc.)
Recruits choir members as needed.
Arrange for substitute choir director during periods of absence.
Purchases music as needed within budget.
Ensures choir robes and music facilities are well-maintained.
Attends the quarterly Worship Committee Meetings.
May be asked by Senior Pastor to perform other duties as needed outside of the regular job duties to help the church function effectively.
Hours and Time Off:
Time Sheets must be turned in bi-weekly
We encourage you to take off 4 Sunday's per year, excluding key Sundays such as Easter and Christmas Eve.
