Apply for This Job Youth Pastor Maple City Chapel Goshen, IN Posted: August 16, 2017     Job Information: Maple City Chapel was born out of outreach to young adults in gangs. It continues to have a heart for evangelism to this day. We have a modern worship style but are in the heart of an Amish and Mennonite community. Currently, we reside in a renovated Walmart building and average around 650-700 members. We are very family oriented and have a thriving youth ministry with hopes to see it expand. We are looking for the right person who fits our DNA. These four characteristics will be key: 1- Strong walk with Christ and a conservative theological perspective 2- Visionary outside of the box thinker- willing to try new things and not be locked into old programs...creativity and big dreamer a major plus 3- Commitment to discipleship and evangelism 4- Team builder- not looking for a lone ranger approach to ministry Primary responsibilities lay in Middle and High School youth ministries -teaching recruiting expanding and programming Responsible To: The Youth Pastor reports to the Family Pastor and works collaboratively with the Children's Pastor and other Staff. Ministry Description: The Youth Pastor position exists to equip young adults to be lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ who participate in Christ's mission at Maple City and throughout the world. As such, the Youth Pastor is responsible for the leadership and continued development of Maple City's youth ministry; this includes recruiting, encouraging, training, and walking alongside youth ministry volunteers (Coaches), student leaders, and parents/guardians of youth. This includes: Supervising, equipping and empowering youth to be active Christ followers Planning the yearly calendar for middle and senior high ministries, in collaboration with other Staff Recruiting, equipping, and empowering youth ministry coaches to be ministry partners in the discipleship of Maple City's youth Coordinating and assuming the primary teaching role for High School youth ministries Leading the middle school and high school youth groups. This includes recruiting, training, and empowering ministry coaches and student leaders Planning, organizing, and leading youth retreats, special events, mission trips, and service projects Engage in outreach and be a regular presence on school campuses. Utilizing social media as appropriate Equipping young adults to share the good news of Jesus Christ Keeping in contact with and ministering parents of youth Facilitating opportunities for fellowship, study, worship, and service Integrating young adults into the wider life of the church, encouraging participation in Sunday morning worship, & facilitating meaningful connections between youth and faithful adults in the congregation Equipping parents to be the primary discipler's of their children, and communicating with parents about the activities of the youth ministry and the spiritual and personal growth of their youth Overseeing the youth ministry budget Attending weekly staff meetings, Family Ministry Team meetings, and other meetings as appropriate Time Commitment: This is a full-time (40 hrs/wk) exempt staff position, requiring flexibility to meet the programmatic and seasonal needs of youth ministry. The Youth Pastor is expected to take an active role in the life of Maple City Chapel and fully participate in all church functions.
