Job Information:
Objective: Work with College/20-somethings to make disciples who make disciples. Preach every 4-6 weeks. Qualifications: Must love college/20-somethings and be a strong example of a mature Christ follower in their lives. Strong, engaging teacher/communicator to small and large groups; ability to communicate on their level (regardless of age). Catalytic leader who is able to engage this group of people and take it to the next level in reaching, discipling, and developing next generation Christ followers and leaders. Excellent communication skills – verbal and written. A team player – someone who works well with a team-minded staff and does whatever is needed for the team. Ability to recognize, train, lead, and mentor volunteers A self-starter and someone who can follow through with plans and assignments. Fully endorse the EFCA Statement of Faith Must have, or working toward an MA in Christian Studies or an MDiv. Role: The Pastor of College and Young Adults, shall function in the following manner under the leadership of the Holy Spirit: Build and develop a ministry to young adults and young singles. Take existing leadership structure and build it to become a high functioning college-aged ministry. Develop young leaders. Responsible for officiating weddings and serving as a first point of contact for counseling college students and young adult attendees. Preach every 4-6 weeks. Responsibilities: The Pastor of College and Young Adults shall carry out the following tasks under the leadership of the Holy Spirit: Teach, or oversee the teaching of College students and 20-somethings. Cast vision and lead College and 20-somethings ministry. In concert with Lead Pastor, preach every 4-6 weeks. To fulfill essential pastoral needs of Kearney eFree including, but not limited to weekend pastoral duties, holiday season and event assignments. Models HUMILITY: This means honoring and supporting the ideas and gifts of contributions of each team member. Models EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION: Sharing your ideas in a manner that is clear to others, listening intently, assuming nothing while clarifying everything and sharing responsibility to understand and be understood. Relationships: The Pastor of College and Young Adults, relates to the following individuals and ministry teams: A. He is responsible, first of all, to the Head of the Church, the Lord Jesus Christ, to whom we must all give an account (Romans 14:12; Colossians 1:18). B. He is hired by the Lead Pastor and is accountable to him in terms of function, responsibilities and accomplishment of ministry. C. He will lead and meet regularly with the College and Young Adults Ministry Team.
