Responsible for our Young Adults and Jr/Sr. High ministries. Includes Youth Groups, Small Groups, (planning events, etc.) and preaching when needed. Background in worship ministry desired (a plus, not a deal breaker). Applicant must be self-motivated and able to adjust well to change. About the Organization: Founded in 1896, First Christian Church is a thriving, multigenerational, full-service church with over 130 members dedicated to serving both the local and global community. A regional church, it draws from areas far beyond its neighborhood and reaches across Miami County. Snapshot: Church Size: 130 Location: Peru Indiana Denomination & Affiliations: Independent Christian Church About the Position: The person hired will serve as the primary overseer, leader & communicator of student ministries at F.C.C. Applies to students in Grades 5 & 6, Middle School, High School & Young Adults. This "ministry architect" will be capable of planning & maximizing the potential of the position so as to recruit and develop staff & volunteer leaders. What We Are Searching For: This individual will demonstrate a passion for reaching the next generation and leading students into authentic relationships with Jesus. Will have a high degree of maturity and possess a pioneering spirit to maximize this ministry at First Christian Church. Qualifications: An undergraduate degree in a relevant field. Some graduate theological education a plus, while the core competencies for the role will include the following: Theologically Astute Strategic Foresight Communication Strengths Relational Intelligence We believe that the work history of this individual will show evidence of the desired qualifications. About Peru: Incorporated as a city in 1835, Peru with a population of just over 12,000, is the county seat for Miami County. Situated on the banks of the Wabash River, Peru is a community that is rich in history. Also known as "The Circus Capital of the World", Peru has been the home to seven of the world's major circuses for their winter headquarters, and still boasts an amateur circus performance that brings fans of all ages from all around the world! In 1894, Peru became the first Indiana city to hold a street fair, and this tradition continues to this day with the Circus City Festival.
