Venture Christian Church is a dynamic, fast-growing community in the Silicon Valley, CA, led by pastor, author, and speaker Chip Ingram. Venture exists to be a catalyst to transform the Bay Area from a place of spiritual darkness to a global strategic teaching and discipleship center for the gospel of Jesus Christ by partnering with Living on the Edge and like-minded churches to produce Romans 12 Christians... here, there and everywhere. Venture Christian Church is seeking an Executive Leader with a calling to oversee Spiritual Formation across the organization. This role will be responsible for all aspects of ensuring the congregation is connecting with one another and building authentic community (Rom 12:9-13) through a strong, healthy, and growing small group ministry while equipping group and group members to exercise their gifts in the body and reach the lost for Christ. This includes development and execution of an annual growth and discipleship focused plan, group leader identification and recruitment, small group curriculum development and ongoing leadership and coaching of group leaders. This person is responsible for the development and execution of discipleship process of all the adults in the congregation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead a team in the development and growth of a strong, small group ministry fostering community involvement, spiritual growth and evangelism. Develop and maintain an annual plan that ensures continuous improvement and growth of small group involvement and expansion. Implement regular team leader and small group participant recruitment methods and processes ensuring a healthy small groups growth rate over time. Plan and execute regular, small group connection events as a means of bridging the gap between attraction environments and deepening environments (small groups). Function as overall leader of all small groups, coaching small group leaders in successful completion of their day-to-day duties and responsibilities with a view to spiritual and group replication. Foster a strong, active, growth and recruiting focused network of small group leaders, group members, and individuals interested in becoming part of the church's small groups ministry. Plan and execute regular, small group leader training and recognition events, ensuring the existence of a healthy body of small group leaders upon which to grow a strong small groups ministry. Familiar and ideally would have executed on a distributed small group strategy Familiarity and ideally would have executed on online campus/church strategy Create promotional materials and methods that ensure everyone at the church is aware of the small groups ministry area, its purpose and importance, and how to get connected. Identify, develop, and/or select small group curriculum and other small group study materials and tools. Drive and coordinate periodic book series/corporate small group pushes as part of the church's weekend service planning and design processes. Function as a member of the church's pastoral staff performing baptism services, weddings, funerals, etc. as part of a rotation schedule. Assist in the development of an annual budget and manage spending to budget. Manage team members by leading in a positive and professional manner by providing spiritual support, leadership, on-going communication regarding performance, organization/church updates and continuous training to improve overall team and individual performance Lead and support overall Churches policy and procedures to meet employment requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION-KNOWLEDGE-SKILLS-EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience in biblical studies or related field is required. (Extensive ministry experience, in some cases, can be substituted.) Minimum of 7 to 10 years' experience as a staff member in a ministry leadership capacity Experience in event-planning and leading special events Experience in team-building and leadership Proven technical awareness and ability with a willingness and enthusiasm to learn about new products and technology Ability to understand and apply analytical and statistics tools and approaches to work Ability to manage projects/teams and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment Experience in conflict resolution using good judgment Ability to recruit, train and develop a strong team and volunteer leader Natural relationship and team leadership ability Strong written and leadership communication skills Positive, inspiring, team work attitude Strong organizational skills Strong knowledge of database and social networking web applications is preferred.
