Apply for This Job Worship/Music Lead First Congregational Church Middletown , NY Posted: January 04, 2017     Job Information: FCC Church in Middletown NY is looking for a bi-vocational worship/music lead to be part of a church turnaround project to bring a contemporary worship focus to a traditional church in the heart of Middletown NY. The new Pastor (June 2016) is also bi-vocational and is on mission to radically transform the churches ministries, focus, style and outreach to ensure the church is serving the needs of the community of tomorrow while also serving the existing members of today. With a new leadership team, and a mandate for change already in place, the church now needs a worship lead to take it forward in 2017! Experience preferred but not necessarily required depending on the person. Currently FCC Middletown has a pianist/organist and a small choir which would be on hand for the new worship lead to oversee and incorporate as needed as part of the new vision. Balancing the need to attract the new members of the community with maintaining a place of worship for older members is a challenge, but the church is focused towards the future and the freedom to create a new worship culture will be given to the right person. This is a church turnaround situation that requires someone who can bridge generations, understand various music styles, and be able to build something rather than maintain the status quo. Typical Sundays attract about 30-50 people, some new attendees are coming, new children are here and we expect to grow in 2017 especially with the worship team in place. The church is about to upgrade to Apple Macs, and setup audio video recording capabilities for the new website www.fccmiddletown.com The role would suit someone who is already working and can provide the majority of their income through that avenue. The church should be seen as a mission field in need of service, attention, and spirit fulled energy. Expected hours per week is 10-15.
