Apply for This Job Choir Director Concord Liberty Presbyterian Church Glen Mills, PA Posted: September 16, 2016     Job Information: The Choir Director is a part-time position (8 -10 Hours) dedicated to Concord Liberty's Traditional Worship Service. The Choir Director will maintain a deep commitment to the spiritual and musical needs of the church working through traditional music to strengthen the church body. The successful candidate must have a mentoring presence and possess the necessary interpersonal and musical skills to implement this program while enhancing the skills of the participants. This position reports directly to the Head of Staff and is also under the counsel and evaluation of the Worship Committee and the Personnel Committee. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Plan and coordinate the choral program used during the traditional Worship service ensuring that all musical aspects of the service advance the theme that the pastor has set for the day. Collaborate with the Choir Accompanist on the selection of music and future repertoire. Arrive in a timely manner prior to the Sunday service in order to rehearse the choir in its morning selections. Direct choral selections during the traditional service. Recruit, nurture, train and direct the adult choir, children's choir and others with special music ability to implement the traditional music program. Responsible for special presentations of music such as those at Christmas, Easter and at other times that might be suitable for the overall enhancement of the music program of the church. Schedule, attend and lead weekly rehearsals for the choir(s). Schedule, attend and lead Cantata rehearsals, as needed. Prepare own Goals and Objectives at the beginning of each year based on Worship Committee objectives. Attend monthly Worship Committee meeting. Attend staff meetings as scheduled by Head of Staff.
