Apply for This Job Pastor of Discipleship & Worship Ridgecrest Church Greenivlle, TX Posted: July 19, 2016     Job Information: Pastor of Discipleship & Worship: Job Description The Pastor of Discipleship and Worship is a full-time salaried position, responsible for the overall spiritual direction of discipleship and worship ministries. Discipleship Ministry Responsibilities—Approximately 20 Hours: Model and lead the adult discipleship ministries of Ridgecrest. Lead, teach, disciple, mentor, counsel, and be a resource to people as they endeavor to live an active Christian life. Work to equip adult volunteers for discipleship roles in the church. Oversee the small group ministries of the church (Life Groups), and coordinate with hosts and group leaders for placement of new families. Oversee and approve all adult discipleship curricula. Oversee assimilation of new members and implement a plan for follow-up contact with visitors. Utilize opportunities to engage visitors and those requesting assistance from the church for the advancement of the Gospel. Provide pastoral counseling to members as needed. Assist the Senior Pastor in any other areas as he may see fit. Worship Responsibilities—Approximately 20 Hours: Lead weekly corporate worship service. Develop, train, mentor, and recruit volunteers to serve as a part of the worship ministry at Ridgecrest. Oversee and coordinate all technical aspects of the worship ministry at Ridgecrest (sound, lighting, web presence, etc.). Work with the Senior Pastor to plan services in an effort to coordinate Scripture reading, song selection, and any other elements with the planned scriptural text for each Sunday. Work with kid's choir team as needed. Use the Worship Ministry at Ridgecrest as a vehicle to disciple team members and to develop mature believers in Jesus Christ. Use Planning Center to schedule and manage all worship and technical volunteers for all services. Create and/or oversee creation of all media programs (song lyrics, announcement slides, videos, etc.) to be used in all services. Upload sermons each week and maintain website. Reporting Responsibility: The Pastor of Discipleship and Worship reports directly to the Senior Pastor. Qualifications: The Pastor of Discipleship and Worship should be a male who meets the qualifications for elders as listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-13, Titus 1:6-9 and 1 Peter 5:1-4. He should, at a minimum, have a Bachelor's degree and some formal music training. He should be active in sharing his faith and in personal disciple-making. He should be able to read music and have some knowledge of church audio/technical needs. He should have worship team and worship leading experience. As a condition of employment he must sign and agree to Ridgecrest's membership agreement.
