Primary Purpose The Children's Ministries Director seeks to change the lives of students and their families by directing the Children's Ministries department of NewPointe. The Director will build an environment where students have the opportunity to be connected to a small group leader, other than their parent, who will walk alongside of them during this season of their life. Through casting vision, developing a team of small group leaders, and executing the Children's Ministries programming strategy, the Children's Ministries Director will lead students and their families to realize and reach their full potential in Jesus Christ.
Specific List of Responsibilities Lead the Children's Ministries staff and volunteer team while keeping a global NewPointe perspective Monitor health, direction, and effectiveness of the Children's Small Group Ministry at the campus level Develop & execute clear objectives for Children's Ministries in cooperation with the Campus Pastor and Director of Family Life Provide oversight to campus Children's Ministries programming, as well as input and feedback about children environments, curriculum, and other programming when requested Oversee and maintain volunteer recruitment and screening process, including identifying potential volunteers and meeting with them to evaluate whether or not they are a good fit Ensure that volunteers are developed, cared for, trained, and prepared for teaching and using curriculum in the classroom (including Coaches and Small Group Leaders) Provide ways for volunteers to grow spiritually, connect in community, and develop as leaders Be available to care for volunteers experiencing life challenges and ensure that volunteers feel valued by meeting with them, listening to them, and encouraging them on a regular basis Oversee the scheduling of volunteers to make sure that all rooms are covered, ensure all curriculum and supplies are set-up for leaders in their classroom, and make sure that Children's space and classrooms are properly maintained Provide oversight to the placement of Student Impact volunteers Communicate with parents on a regular basis, work with parents of children presenting challenges, and meet with parents and children interested in being baptized Plan and complete the promotion of all small groups to the next age/grade Communicate and enforce all safety and evacuation policies Project and maintain Children's Ministries Budget Work all Department Special Events and own specific aspects of events when requested Organize and execute Baby Dedications on a regular basis Provide weekly oversight to Preschool Ministry on Sundays Utilize individual gifts and talents (ex: Speaking, Music, Curriculum, Writing, etc...) when called upon to do so Resolve problems and disputes as they arise Prioritize and pursue his/her own relationship with Christ as a model to the campus team Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements Supervisory: Recruit, lead and develop volunteers
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: A knowledge of Microsoft programs Able to learn NewPointe specific software Basic knowledge of computers Team building skills Able to manage multiple projects at a time Organized Coachable
Qualifications Education: High School & College Degree preferred Experience: Previous experience in leading volunteers Licenses: None
