Job Description Summary:
The Worship Arts Director will work alongside the Lead Pastor in designing and executing all of the Water's Edge worship experiences. This is a full-time position with full-time compensation which includes, but isn't limited to, leading the Worship Band, the AVL volunteers and the Worship Design Team. This position includes activities such as weekly band rehearsals, preparing (or guiding the preparation of) lighting and video components, and working cooperatively with a design team to create meaningful worship settings and experiences.
Currently, Water's Edge has two Sunday morning worship experience. The early service is geared toward traditional music with some soft praise music added in. The Worship Arts Director serves as the worship leader/musician for this service. The later service is centered on contemporary praise and worship music including current Christian music and crossover songs. The Worship Arts Director leads the Worship Band in this service.
The Worship Arts Director is expected to work cooperatively with teams and volunteers as a leader and guide. This person should have good people and communication skills and be gifted at a worship leadership. The Worship Arts Director is expected to lead by casting vision that: 1) reflects the good news of Jesus Christ and, 2) ignites the congregation's passion to share and serve as Christ-followers.
