Position Summary: Collaboratively oversee and participate in the continual development and preservation of Church of the Open Door's DNA, mission, vision and values. Actively ensure that Ministry Area Pastors and Directors are equipped to lead and shepherd the Open Door community. Responsibilities: Essential job duties include: Strategically advance the implementation of initiatives developed in support of the vision and mission, cooperatively and in collaboration with the Governing Board of Elders and Lead Teaching Pastor; Shepherd, supervise, and coach Ministry Area Pastors and Directors; Preach/teach according to schedule collaboratively developed with Lead Teaching Pastor and teaching team; Ensure ministry and operational integrity across the organization; Serve as an ex-officio member on the Governing Board of Elders; Participate in board activities and meetings. Non-essential job duties include: Lead/attend meetings as necessary; Perform other duties as assigned by the Governing Board of Elders Qualifications: Required: Masters of Divinity/Christian Ministries/other applicable graduate degree or equivalent, directly-related experience required; Experience serving in a lead pastoral role a minimum of 5 years (10 years preferred); Experience with relationally supervising and leading a staff, within a large congregation; Experience with and commitment to spiritual formation of self, staff and congregation; upon hire, secure and maintain Open Door membership and ministerial licensing. Other Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated courageous leadership within a faith community; willingness to make hard decisions with compassion; Excellent written, oral and listening communication skills, including speaking/preaching, and teaching in a variety of settings; Ability to interact with a variety of individuals in a professional, courteous and tactful manner; Ability to work without close supervision, with consistent follow through and execution; Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, working weekends; Ability to maintain confidential information; Demonstrated commitment to continual organizational improvement; Knowledge of, experience with and commitment to: personal and corporate discernment and navigating/leading others through conflict and imminent change (both personal and corporate). Physical Demands: Employee must be able to move freely throughout the building.
