Old Spanish Trail | Tucson, AZ 85748 ABOUT SAGUARO CANYON CHURCH: Saguaro Canyon is an intergenerational, family-oriented church located on the eastside of Tucson, Arizona that strives to meet the needs of people from all walks of life and stages in their faith. As of May 2016 our body numbers about 350. We are a Bible-based church that believes in the inerrancy of scripture. Our Pastors use an expository approach to teach the Word. Our services are designed to be inter-generational with two different services with an acoustic service as an option for one. Communion is served every Sunday morning. In our musical worship, content and doctrinal soundness is our priority. Each week one of our worship teams guide this portion of our worship service through a variety of styles ranging from traditional church hymns to contemporary worship music. Our mission is to connect our community to Christ. This can be broken down as follows: 1) Connect to Christ Create spaces for people to explore faith in Jesus, trust Him with their lives, and mature in their faith. (Worship Gatherings, Community Groups) 2) Connect to Church Help people discover their gifts and passions and find their fit in ministry so they can serve the body effectively and joyfully. (Ministry to the Body) 3) Connect to Community Equip people to share their faith with others and be an influence in their community as they live out their faith in their oikos--or sphere of influence. (Mission to our world) REQUIREMENTS: Mature follower of Jesus Christ who is walking with and growing in their daily relationship with the Lord. Affirms the beliefs expressed in the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA). Team player that encourages others in their faith and supports Saguaro Canyon Church's Mission to connect our community to Christ. EXPERIENCE: Has participated in a Worship Team with vocational leadership experience. Has been actively involved in youth ministry with vocational leadership experience. A degree in ministry, Christian education, or music is not required but may be beneficial. Worship Director (about 25 hours/week)--Reports to Lead Pastor As Director of Worship the ideal candidate will create continuity in our worship ministry by scheduling and leading team rehearsals and have a working knowledge of common worship software. We are currently using Proclaim and Planning Center Online. Skilled worship leader An accomplished Vocalist and instrumentalist who is able to communicate joy, warmth and humility in worship. Introduce songs and provide transitions that engage the congregation in meaningful and enjoyable worship. Identify and best utilize the gifts and talent of our musicians. Foster loving, mutually encouraging relationships within our Worship Team to include prayer and spiritual growth. Weekly worship songs will be selected in cooperation with the Lead Pastor to include praise songs, traditional hymns, and hymns sung in a modern style. Additionally, develops presentations in a manner that supports the theme of the service and enhances the worship experience. Oversee and ensure the Proclaim presentation is in sync with what the Worship Team is singing. Attends weekly Staff Meetings. Youth Director: (about 15 hours/week)--Reports to Generations Pastor As our Director of Youth the ideal candidate will create opportunities for learning, connection, and service for our youth. He or she will engender in our youth and their parents a passion for serving Christ. A skilled youth leader Develops Youth Programs in tandem with the Generations Pastor. Forms Christ-centered relationships with the youth and their families at Saguaro Canyon Church Facilitates an inter-generational atmosphere where parents and other adults are actively involved in the lives of our youth and vice-versa Plans and participates in youth activities (events, service projects, etc.) Prays with and for the youth of SCC. Attends weekly Staff Meetings The Director of Worship and Youth at Saguaro Canyon Church will not be expected to lead these ministries alone, but to partner with active church goers, staff, and our pastors in serving the Lord. This position will evolve and be shaped by the developing needs of the church as well as the passions, gifts, and abilities of the Director of Worship and Youth. Salary: Based on experience.
