Apply for This Job Director, Children's Ministry Program Fairview United Methodist Church Maryville, TN Posted: May 05, 2016     Job Information: Fairview United Methodist Church, located in Maryville, Tennessee, is looking to fill the full-time position of Children's Director. Our Children's Director will provide leadership and vision to the Children's Ministry (grades 1-6) by equipping and teaching our children and their families to pursue an intimate relationship with God. They are responsible for recruiting, leading, organizing and supporting volunteers who are called to use their gifts in ministry with children. The Children's Director will also coordinate and nurture the Christian education programs at Fairview; and support, encourage and partner with their parents to be spiritual leaders in the home. Applicants for this position must have the following attributes and qualifications: Experience in Christian education and leadership for children kindergarten through sixth grade. Genuine love for ministry to children and their families. Completed a 4 year degree program plus one year work experience with children; OR an Associates' Degree in childhood education and 2 years work experience with children; OR 4 years work experience with children with at least one year in a supervisory role. A collaborative style of leadership and excellent communication skills. Ability to team up with colleagues running multiple departments sharing family members/age groups. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher; and the ability to learn church software programs and integrate them into job responsibilities.
