Apply for This Job Student Pastor Gateway Baptist Church Irmo, SC Posted: April 13, 2016     Job Information: Position Description: Student Pastor Reports to: Senior Pastor, Executive Pastor and Discipleship Pastor Mission: To help every student develop his or her potential in Christ. Vision: A Student Ministry that welcomes and matures churched and unchurched students. Strategy: To create a ministry to students which will REACH non-believing students, CONNECT them with other Christians, help them GROW in their faith, and challenge the growing to SERVE in ministry and WORSHIP God with their lives in accordance with the example set in Acts 2: 42 – 47. Fun: create an engaging environment Areas of Functional Responsibilities: Oversee large group gatherings for Middle and High School students o Serve as the primary communicator o Organize all programming elements including student band, room setup, games, event promotion / registration (including web and social media posting), and attendance records. Oversee Lifegroups for Middle School, High School and College-age o Facilitate all Lifegroups by equipping and supporting leaders with materials and ongoing training Conduct regular leader training meetings o Regularly plan leadership meetings for prayer, feedback, and training. Conduct regular events to connect and engage students o Organize and oversee regular connecting events such as paintball, service projects, whitewater rafting, camping, etc. that gives student the opportunity to connect, engage and invite. IMPACT (Discipleship Now) Weekend o Organize and oversee in-home retreat weekend (Friday – Sunday) for Middle and High School students including all booking, budgeting, programming, and service project logistics. Summer Camp o Organize, and arrange logistics for a camp for Middle and High School students Summer Daze (Middle School) / Dippin' n' Dogs (High School) o Organize and lead a lakeside summer bible study Mission Trips o Organize and arrange logistics for mission trips in various locations Connecting Parents o Organize a minimum annual parent information meeting o Organize and arrange for a minimum annual parenting seminar o Create and send out bimonthly parent information update General Requirements: Leadership o Actively engage and interact with the all ministerial pastors. o Participate in ministry opportunities (e.g., missions, small groups, pastoral care). o Perform other duties as may be necessary, requested or required.
