Job Information:
NORTH END COMMUNITY CHURCH (NECC) TACOMA, WASHINGTON, UNITED STATES Date Posted: 01/30/2016 Categories: Pastor Denomination: Non-denominational Church Size: 25-50 adults average attendance Job Type: Full-Time or bi-vocational JOB DESCRIPTION: We are actively searching for the new Pastor whom God has prepared to lead, guide, and minister to the congregation of NECC. The pastor of NECC shall serve as its Christ led spiritual shepherd. His primary roles shall be preaching, teaching, and leading the congregation in the fulfillment of its vision. In collaboration with the elder and business boards, his oversight shall include helping the congregation to develop their spiritual gifts, grow in their love for and dependence upon the Lord Jesus Christ and share the gospel with our community and the world. He must be committed to affirming the authority of the Scriptures and exalting Biblical principles to encourage the congregation.   NORTH END COMMUNITY CHURCH – WHO ARE WE? "A little country church in a busy city" is how North End Community Church was once described. What a wonderful phrase that embodies this close knit fellowship of believers caring for each other in prayer and practice as the Holy Spirit leads us to grow in faith in God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. We are a family of families comprised of young children, youth, singles, and seniors. Praying with and for each other is a major emphasis that is encouraged by offering opportunities of daily gathering for shared prayer, a prayer chain that is easily accessible for the public as well as the congregation, and elders that visit and pray with individuals or families in their home, over the telephone or wherever they are. A non-denominational Body of Christ, but following the example of the Berean Church, we welcome God's message with eagerness and examine the Scriptures daily to see if these things are so. We take Bible literacy seriously, and we hold each other accountable for handling accurately the Word of truth. Our love for one another is demonstrated by a strong desire to be involved with each other's lives whether it is for an afternoon picnic, a church family camping trip, or giving of our time and ability to help with a car, home repair, or someone who is shut-in. Our love for our community and the unsaved is practically demonstrated locally in many ways, from preparing brown bag lunches for hungry school children in need, to supporting teen crisis ministries through Youth for Christ, and significant involvement in foster care and adoption. Globally, we follow our Lord's commandment to share the Gospel with all the world, through hands-on and financial support of missions in Cambodia and Albania. North End Community Church certainly does have that little country church feel in some respects, but as we seek to please, honor, and glorify God, we engage our larger busier city and the world that needs to know about Him and to come to faith in Him. Requirements: Meets the Biblical requirements of an elder found in 1 Timothy 3:2-7, Titus 1:5-9 and 1 Peter 5:1-3 B.A. or greater theological degree from an accredited Bible college or seminary Ordained minister with a minimum of three years experience in church leadership Agreement with the NECC statement of faith as posted on the NECC website Compensation and benefits will be discussed with final applicants.
