East Pickens Baptist Church Pickens, SC Posted: January 16, 2016     Job Information: East Pickens Baptist Church is searching for an associate pastor to lead our church in the areas of worship and technology. EPBC features a Country (think Rascal Flatts worship) and a Contemporary worship service each Sunday morning. We don't need "just a song leader." We need a pastor who will shepherd multiple bands while adding creative elements to our dynamic worship services. We also need a Mac guy who understands how important technology and audio/video enhances the ministry of the church. Possible secondary responsibilities (choose one!) could be: Celebrate Recovery, Outreach, or Connection/ Discipleship. Expectations General -Lead, by example, the disciplined Christian life exhibited by a positive attitude, a vibrant personal devotional life, healthy family relationships, personal evangelism, and a love for Jesus. -Recruit, develop, mentor and schedule volunteers to accomplish the work of the ministries entrusted to this position. -Cultivate an atmosphere of camaraderie, and teamwork with everyone involved in the ministry. -Be a catalyst for community change and outreach through East Pickens. -Undergird the simple purposes of East Pickens in all he does: Worship, Connect, Serve, and Share. -Be willing to be a team player and help with other ministry areas, as needed. -Set the example of servant leadership by leading in a way that demonstrates humility and the willingness to do what he asks others to do. -Set the example of excellence by doing his best and expecting the best from everyone else. -Plant deep roots through intentional relationships and family participation in the other activities at East Pickens. -Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings and staff development activities. -Develop the annual budgets for the ministries you oversee. -Pastor the people within the direct influence of your ministry. -Provide pastoral care, as scheduled, including on-call weekends. Worship -Organize and oversee the regular weekly worship services of the church under the supervision of, and in cooperation with, the Senior Pastor. -Coordinate, resource, and supervise the various ministry teams required to make the music/arts ministries effective at East Pickens (video, sound, lighting, praise band(s), interpretive movement, choirs, technology, etc.). -Work with the Senior Pastor to develop creative worship opportunities throughout the year. -Schedule and oversee the necessary practices and other preparation meetings for the music/arts ministry teams to be effective. -Seek to expand the team to include a mass choir occasionally, more worship bands, and more creative arts involvement. -Oversee and resource the children's and student music ministries. Technology --Oversee the development, upkeep, planning, and expansion of the computer network and tech needs of the church and the church office. (Ex: office computers, audio systems, streaming video, presentation computers for worship, lighting system, etc.) -Work with the Communications Ministry Assistant to provide an excellent online presence for the church. -Manage the Tech Team for worship services Possible Secondary Ministry Responsibilities (Pick 1!) 1) Discipleship/Connection -Oversee the adult connection ministries of East Pickens, including Sunday School, small groups, and Home Group ministries. -Oversee any curriculum, scheduling, training, and organizational structures of all the connection ministries. -Insure the doctrinal integrity of everything taught under the banner of East Pickens Baptist Church. 2) Outreach Food Pantry -Coordinate the monthly Food Pantry Ministry -Manage the leadership team of the food pantry -Recruit, encourage, and empower volunteers for the Food Pantry -Establish the needed supply of food resources to give away each month -Keep up compliance needs of Golden Harvest and other food resources -Coordinate the monthly worship service associated with the Food Pantry -Make the Food Pantry ministry better through innovative ideas and systems improvement Mission Pickens -Organize and resource the weekly outreach ministry of the church. (Wednesday night door-to-door within a 5 mile radius of the church by the year 2020) -Plan for the expansion of the Outreach ministry to include creative ways to reach our community with the Gospel. 3) Celebrate Recovery -Another possibility is overseeing a Celebrate Recovery ministry that will be starting in 2016.
