Apply for This Job Music Director Christ United Methodist Church Farmers Branch , TX Posted: October 15, 2015     Job Information: Director of Music Christ United Methodist Church, Farmers Branch Texas Christ UMC in Farmers Branch Texas is seeking a full time director of music to lead the active music ministry of the church. CUMC has 3 worship services in traditional, gospel, and contemporary voices, a weekly worship attendance of 330, and a tradition of an active, varied, and excellent music ministry incorporating 5 choral choirs, 4 bell choirs and a contemporary band. Farmers Branch is a suburb of Dallas The successful candidate will have knowledge of and experience in leading traditional worship including chancel choir, contemporary worship, children and youth choirs, as well as teaching music in a preschool setting. The successful candidate will also be able to organize the components of the church's music program and lead associate directors of music and work in conjunction with other staff members. In addition, the successful candidate should have knowledge of and experience with United Methodist Worship traditions. Responsibilities: Direct Children, Youth, and Adult Chancel Choirs, Lead the Christ Alive Contemporary Band Recruit and develop members within congregation. Recruit and mentor members and section leaders outside the congregation. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills Supervise and work with associate directors. Lead and direct contemporary band and worship service. Work with Sr. Pastor and worship team for music selection and worship design. Teach music to children in the church pre-school. Coordinate music for special services including weddings and funerals. Work in conjunction with age-level ministries for special programs and worship. Work with other staff and lay leaders for special events such as VBS etc. Coordinate Audio Visual team for Sunday and special worship services.
