Apply for This Job Senior Pastor Cornerstone Church Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA Posted: October 02, 2015     Job Information: Cornerstone Church is a Christ-centered, multi-generational congregation located in the coastal New England town of Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA. Cornerstone exists for the glory of God and the good of others—we envision a church that helps build a flourishing community for all people through a movement of the gospel that changes the social and spiritual landscape of the North Shore of Boston, and ultimately the world. The next pastor of Cornerstone Church needs to be a visionary leader and team player who can work in a multi-generational and culturally stable environment. Some senior pastoral experience is preferable but not necessary. What is necessary is that the next pastor be a patient, proven leader with a pastor's heart. He must have a history of being a team player and a team leader who is willing to empower, equip, and release the congregants to do the work of the ministry. Good relational skills are important as well as a commitment to do missional ministry as exhibited in the actual practice of spending time with non-believers on a regular basis. The candidate should be well spoken with a good preaching gift and a demonstrated commitment to being a life-long learner. A seminary education, or the near completion of a seminary education, is required. It would be helpful to have some understanding of the culture and climate of New England. The next pastor will be responsible for implementing the vision and values recently discovered and developed by the congregation. An understanding of and willingness to practice "policy governance" is important. All boards, committees, organizations, and ministries will be accountable (directly or indirectly) to the pastor, who is accountable to the Leadership Team, of which he'll be a voting member. A Christo-centric approach to preaching and ministry is important. The church is a member of the Conservative Baptist Association.
