Apply for This Job Director of Children's Ministry Cypress United Methodist Church Cypress, TX Posted: May 23, 2015     Job Information: Cypress United Methodist Church is looking for an experienced Director of Children's Ministry. The candidate would have a passion and commitment for sharing God's Word with children. They would create excitement among children and their families for growing deeper in their spiritual walk. The candidate would be creative in teaching and growing participation in children's worship and events. They will need to recruit, develop, and maintain a solid volunteer base. This individual will also recognize that the children's department is not within the four walls of a building but throughout the Cypress, Texas community and be plugged into that community. They will be hands on, flexible, and comfortable speaking in front of children and their families. They will supervise a small staff; work with existing children's council, and with the worship team, as well as being responsible for managing their own budget. They will possess strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and an innovative approach to reaching students who do not have a church home. The candidate should be someone who is called to children's ministry and plans to remain in it. They should be willing to pursue a certification in Christian Education.
