Apply for This Job Contemporary Worship Leader Monroe First United Methodist Church Monroe , GA Posted: May 04, 2015     Job Information: Position Overview: The Worship Leader position is a part-time, non-ordained staff position of Monroe First United Methodist Church, a growing and Christ-passionate church of over 800 situated between Atlanta and Athens, Georgia. The Worship Leader must have a passion for Jesus Christ, with a comprehensive understanding and performance expertise of leading contemporary worship in a praise band setting. The Worship Leader will be responsible for the planning, implementation, recruitment and maintenance of the Praise Contemporary Worship Service in coordination with the existing Praise Team Leadership and the Senior Pastor. Accountability: The Worship Leader will maintain a viable and good working relationship with other church staff and will be directly supervised by the Senior Pastor. This staff ministry position is part and parcel of the overall cooperative worship ministry efforts of MFUMC. Specific Areas of Responsibility: „X Select music for each service in coordination with Senior Pastor. „X Design a PowerPoint presentation for each week¡¦s service with the words to the songs provided to the Praise Team. Deliver to all Praise Band players and singers in a timely manner all upcoming rehearsed and performed music. „X Lead weekly rehearsals for Praise Team. „X Recruit singers and musicians on an as needed basis. Maintaining sufficient musicians (drummer, bass, guitar, electric piano) and side-singers (2 minimum). Requirements: Prior experience leading a contemporary worship band and singers; preferably on a regular basis at a contemporary worship service. Formal music training preferred. Ability to lead by singing and playing either the guitar or piano. A United Methodist background or at least familiarity, while not mandatory, is helpful. Terms: Hours: It is estimated that this position should require approximately 10-12 hours per week including all preparation, coordination and performing the Contemporary Worship Service.
