Truro Anglican Church, a vibrant, established congregation in the heart of historic Fairfax, Virginia, is seeking a full-time Director of Family Ministries. Main responsibilities are:
Build a children & youth culture that is joyful, worshipful, welcoming and attractive to both churched and non-churched families, where people of all ages may know they are loved by God and be friends with Jesus.
Plan and deliver well-organized activities and programs that will nurture children and youth into the reality of God's presence and love, encouraging them to grow in a lifelong two-way relationship of love and joy with Him.
Be a champion for children, youth and families at Truro, working enthusiastically with all ages to integrate children and young people into the heart and life of the parish.
Oversee the vision, quality, growth and implementation of our Sunday teaching and worship programs for 0-18s.
Lead and manage the Families Ministries staff team.
Recruit, train, and lead a large team of volunteers.
Continue to build healthy links with the staff and students of local schools.
Ensure that this ministry enhances and supports the overall ministry and mission of Truro.
Be thoroughly involved in the wider life of Truro and attend Truro Sunday worship whenever possible.
Be committed to working as a team with the rest of Truro's staff.
