CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP ARTS DIRECTOR Job Description
Job Summary: Lead contemporary worship services at Crossroads United Methodist Church Reports to: Directing Pastor Supervises: All volunteers and staff associated with contemporary worship Status: Full-time, salary position with benefits
GENERAL DESCRIPTION Primary responsibility is to lead contemporary worship services at Crossroads. We seek to consistently offer excellent, accessible worship that grows disciples who are sent to the crossroads of our community to impact lives for Jesus Christ.

Essential functions: Envision service elements; lead and develop the music team for weekly worship including Active and creative participation in weekly Worship Planning Team meetings Music selection for the contemporary worship services Recruit, audition, rehearse and lead contemporary worship band teams to have consistent musical excellence for worship services Arrange songs, organize and lead practices, oversee preparation of chord charts, and maintain music files Work closely with the Traditional Worship Arts Director to ensure excellence in all worship services throughout Crossroads Prepare service information and record in Planning Center Online at least one week in advance of each worship service Provide spiritual leadership for the team members which includes encouraging and establishing fellowship among band team members Oversee Media Ministry servants for the contemporary worship services and hold the servants accountable to ensure throughout all areas of worship consistent level of excellence Be responsible to create environment of worship including rehearsals worship services, developing a dress code, designing the platform, coordinating worship elements, and time of transitions Active communication with the music teams, media teams, regular church publications, and between other staff members regarding contemporary worship services Develop a plan for a new evening weekend contemporary worship service and provide leadership and direction for these services
Required Meetings: Weekly worship planning meetings Monthly All Staff meetings as scheduled (Fourth Wednesday) Leadership staff meetings (First & Third Wednesday) Other meetings as scheduled and pertinent to the job description
