Job Information:
The Pastor Search Committee, representing the membership of Faith Community Church in New Albany, Indiana, is seeking a full-time Senior Pastor. We are looking for a man called by God to replace our recently retired Pastor who led and served the congregation for over 17 contiguous years as full-time Senior Pastor and 14 years prior to that as part-time Associate. Faith Community Church (FCC) is a non-denominational church located in northeast Floyd County in Southern Indiana. Qualifications: Qualified candidates have been saved by the atoning blood of Jesus Christ and are striving to walk in the Spirit. Personal character, integrity, and management of your household must be above reproach. A minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required. A degree from a theological seminary is highly desired. At least five (5) years of senior level pastoral experience (e.g. - Assistant or Associate Pastor or Minister, Executive Pastor, Youth Minister, Ministry Coordinator or Leader) is preferred. Ordination by a recognized incorporated church or entity is desired. The desired candidate should also possess the following: Ability to prepare and deliver Biblically sound, inspirational, and anointed sermons that fully align with our Essentials of Doctrine. A heart for discipleship and the ability to provide strong Bible-based teaching and study that is relevant, engaging, and understandable. Strong interpersonal skills, including effective conflict resolution and administrative and management skills for church staff and program development. Accessibility and sensitivity to the needs of all demographics within the congregation, including a deep passion for the caring and shepherding of the flock via visitation, prayer, counseling, and other needs. Vision for growing church membership that is consistent with the Word of God. Commitment to growing and encouraging the spiritual development of children, youth, young adults and families in the congregation. Should be able to interact effectively with our multigenerational congregation. Commitment to Christian education, missions, and evangelism while remaining open to new ideas. Lifestyle characterized by moral integrity and servant leadership including self-control, personal discipline, even temper, and priority management. Willingness to abide by all aspects of the Church's by-laws, covenant, essentials and purposes. Position and Responsibilities: Demonstrate biblically sound preaching and teaching. Equip the Church Body to share the gospel through words and deeds. Demonstrate authentic love and care for the congregation on a consistent basis by getting acquainted with all members and assisting them with their spiritual and physical needs as appropriate. Provide spiritual oversight and care for the church family—helping and encouraging believers to develop and use their spiritual gifts and their talents. Lead, manage, and develop a professional office staff through regular meetings, supervision, mentoring, and accountability. Demonstrate Godly leadership and wisdom in planning worship services, church events, and working with church committees, lay leaders, ministries and volunteers. As a church Elder meet regularly with the Elder Board for the purpose of church governance, oversight, and vision. Communicate spiritual vision and direction from the Word and as God reveals it for His church. With the Elders, provide leadership to the Deacon Board and Ministry Coordinators.
