Position Summary The role of the Worship & Arts Director is to coordinate energetic and creative worship services, develop the areas of music, band, choral, praise team, drama, dance and the visual arts, and incorporate these into the worship of the church so that the worship of the congregation is enhanced to the Glory of God.
Ministry obligations include weekend services, bible studies, Mike Moore Ministry Conferences, rehearsals, ministry meetings, & team building throughout the worship arts department. In addition, this individual is responsible for providing musical mentorship for our teen & children's music departments.
The Worship & Arts Director must be musically trained, understand music from various genres and generations, with particular emphasis on contemporary music, (i.e. praise & worship, Gospel, Contemporary Christian Music, and contemporary arrangements of traditional hymns. This individual must have great understanding of, and vision for music in the 21st century church.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Plan and Coordinate creative elements of adult worship services through a team Lead and manage the Fine Arts Department, Production Staff and volunteers Train the Worship Leaders and Praise Team to effectively lead worship Plan & implement worship projects (Concerts, CD projects, stage plays, etc.) and department goals Maintain and improve structures and systems of the fine arts department and service programming Manage department budget Direct, train and recruit talent and volunteers to the Fine Arts Department Provide musical mentorship to our Teen and Children's Worship Ministry leadership Coordinate rehearsals with choral, band, arts, & production Perform other duties as designated
Required Skills & Abilities: Minimum of 3 years of worship administration in a local church Strong commitment to the Word of God and the vision of this church Highly skilled in voice training Skilled songwriter or arranger Effective leadership and management skills Create, coordinate and lead worship experiences with a team Strong interpersonal and communication skills Problem analysis and problem solving skills Ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast paced environment Ability to work effectively in a team environment Ability to work independently with minimum supervision Ability to resolve conflicts Ability to handle multiple projects effectively (multitask) Ability to travel Ability to learn and use Fellowship One Church Management Software Ability to learn and use Planning Center Online Software Proficient in Word, Excel and Power Point
