Main Street United Methodist Church in Greenwood, SC is now accepting applications for a Director of Music Ministries. The primary responsibilities include selecting and directing traditional choral music for the church's weekly traditional service. Additional responsibilities including directing the church's elementary age children's choir and handbell ensembles and general oversight of all musical ensembles and activities at the church, including an early morning contemporary service with a band. The Director of Music Ministries will work closely with the Senior Pastor in planning both weekly and special seasonal services. The Director of Music Ministries also performs several weekly administrative tasks related to scheduling lay participation in worship services.
This position reports to the Senior Pastor and the Staff Parish Relations Committee. Qualifications include a minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Music (or the equivalent) with a minimum of three years experience in choral directing in a church setting. Additional post graduate study in sacred music or worship studies and piano or organ skills are desirable.
