Worship Coordinator
Job Description Bethlehem Church has an immediate opening for a flexible, energetic, fun to work with, highly motivated worship coordinator who wants to work in collaboration with the rest of the ministry staff and oversee the planning/ execution of our Contemporary worship gatherings with a goal of leading our congregation in worship that is pleasing and honoring to God. We seek a candidate who is creative, open to new ideas and willing to incorporate different elements into worship gatherings. This is a part-time salaried position requiring on average 20 hours of work per week including Sunday mornings, some Sunday evenings and weeknight rehearsals. Responsibilities Meet regularly with Worship Table comprised of Sr. Pastor, Coordinator of Creative Arts and Traditional Worship Coordinator to collaboratively develop creative ideas for worship gatherings Plan worship services in conjunction with ministry staff based on sermon topic/theme and other directional goals Select music, scripture, prayers and other elements of worship that will engage an intergenerational congregation Plan flow of worship for Contemporary Worship gatherings and work with Coordinator of Creative Arts to plan special services (Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, Good Friday, Easter Morning, etc.) Plan/Lead regularly scheduled weekly rehearsals Lead congregational worship Recruit, develop, manage and schedule volunteer musicians, vocalists and technical team Qualifications The Worship Coordinator should have a demonstrated track record of leadership in music and ministry. The Worship Coordinator (and spouse, if applicable) should demonstrate a mature Christian faith and be in agreement with the Bethlehem Church Statement of Faith, which can be found on the church website http://www.bethlehemchurch.org/#/about-us/what-we-believe The successful candidate should have: Demonstrated ability to lead congregational worship Demonstrated ability to sing and play a lead instrument (guitar preferred) Technological proficiency - ability to interact effectively with technical team Ability to articulate a theology of worship that is built on biblical principles Demonstrated ability to develop, empower and shepherd a diverse volunteer worship team A heart for all generations and a desire to unite them in worship To apply, please e-mail your resume to worshipsearch@bethlehemchurch.org Helpful things to include: A description of your philosophy of worship A description of your process for preparing to lead Worship Services Links to videos of you leading worship, if available
