Apply for This Job Download PDF Attachment      (Right Click and choose Save Target As) Pastor Holy Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church Nazareth, PA Posted: July 25, 2014     Job Information: Holy Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church is an LCMC congregation seeking a full-time spiritual leader to continue guiding our mission upon the imminent retirement of our pastor. The church, founded in 1971, currently worships with one traditional and one informal service every Sunday. The Holy Spirit is active in a team of volunteers who are committed to the worship life of the congregation, along with several supportive groups and committees and ample opportunities for fellowship and community outreach. Holy Cross is outside of historical Nazareth, in a rural area of the Lehigh Valley – a vibrant region of cities and suburbs that's conveniently located halfway between Philadelphia and New York City. Several public schools in the area rank highly for their academic quality. The community offers abundant opportunities for recreation, education, entertainment, shopping, enjoying the outdoors and more. Our foremost goal for our future spiritual growth is to develop our youth programming to involve more children in Sunday school, confirmation, youth group, fellowship and service activities. We are looking for a caring pastor who embodies 1 Corinthians 9: 19-23 – someone who can relate to and inspire our youth while also fulfilling the spiritual needs of older members, such as by visiting the sick and shut-ins. Our new spiritual leader will grow with the congregation and join us to form Christ's body as described in 1 Corinthians 12: 12-31. We are seeking someone approachable with a kind heart, and we appreciate a sense of humor. Experience is preferred.
