Apply for This Job Pastor of Worship and Creative Arts Westwood Baptist Church Olympia, WA Posted: July 15, 2014     Job Information: Westwood Baptist Church is seeking a full-time Pastor of Worship and Creative Arts. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, developing and facilitating engaging, meaningful, and creative Christ-centered worship experiences in our Traditional and Contemporary services as well as overseeing the area of Technical Arts. Westwood Baptist Church is a Gospel-centered, evangelical congregation committed to Gospel-renewal. We like to put it this way, "Jesus is renewing us to renew the world." Each Sunday morning, in our Traditional and Contemporary services, 850-900 adults (with 250 children) gather to worship, pray, and learn from the exposition of God's Word, all with the central aim of engaging the life-changing renewal and transformation that can only come from God. Having experienced Gospel renewal ourselves, we seek to bring that renewal to everyone in the greater Olympia area as well as around the world. In the last 40 years, Westwood Baptist Church has grown from a church plant into a thriving and influential church in the city of Olympia, the capital of the state of Washington. Westwood is best known for strong Bible teaching, dynamic children's ministries, and vitalized discipleship. Our county population is growing with retirees and young families moving into the area. We believe our traditional (8:30am) and contemporary services (10:00am and 11:30am) are mission critical. The successful candidate will exhibit a love for and excellence in both traditional and contemporary forms of worship, servant leadership, collaborative teamwork, and a pastoral heart for our multi-generational congregation. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor's degree, preferably in music or related field, and will have several years of experience as a Worship Pastor. Seminary training is a plus. The candidate will be accomplished in choral, vocal, and instrumental direction, skilled as an instrumentalist, preferably with guitar and/or keys, and gifted as a vocalist able to lead in congregational worship. This individual will show ability in organization, administration, and interpersonal relationships. The qualified candidate will be capable in the use of technology in worship as well as sound, lighting, computers, and video projection. In addition, this individual will need to periodically incorporate creative and artistic elements within the worship service.
