Believing that Christian worship is inherently multi-cultural and diverse, this position cultivates excellence and increases the breadth of worship experiences here at First Church. The Worship Leader is responsible for planning, leading, coordinating, and administering a comprehensive music and worship ministry. This individual will provide coaching and direction for volunteers who serve on the contemporary worship team, as well as guest vocalists and instrumentalists.
The Worship Leader has primary responsibility for leading the 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Contemporary Worship Services with potential for developing and leading a new afternoon or evening worship offering. The Leader also provides music for special worship services and church gatherings. He/she will explore and launch new music ministries for the downtown Tulsa community. He/she will also create effective audio/video and lighting that supports worship; and recruit, train and oversee the volunteer production team on technology, lighting, and sound.
The candidate will posses a Bachelor of Music degree, or have equivalent church music training. Strong vocal, keyboard, and/or guitar skills are a must. Arranging skills are a plus.
