JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Director of Global Engagement
DEPARTMENT: Student Development
REPORTS TO: Dean of Students
OVERVIEW OF POSITION:
The Director of Global Engagement facilitates opportunities for students to engage big ideas through cross-cultural experiences. The director accomplishes this by shaping and coordinating International Ventures initiatives, including trip design, partnership building, marketing, fund-raising, and team training. The director also builds partnerships with organizations in New York City to provide strategic opportunities of influence. The director works to increase study abroad opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
International Ventures Execution
Shaping trips to ensure alignment with the mission of The King's College
Identifying, coaching, and resourcing trips leaders
Overseeing publicity and recruitment
Coordinating International Ventures academic course and training
Managing trip logistics including insurance, emergency management, flights, and housing
Partnership Building
Building alliances with strategic partners—both in New York City and abroad
Identifying and promoting world-class opportunities including internships and other study abroad programs
Developing a strategy for placing and equipping alumni in longer-term opportunities internationally
Fund Development
Equipping students to raise trip funds
Seeking outside grants through major donors and foundations
City Engagement
Building alliances with strategic organizations in New York City
Working with the City Engagement Student Coordinator to channel students into key opportunities
Developing and implement a semester-long curriculum that trains students to understand faithful engagement of the city
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
At minimum, a bachelor's degree and 5 years relevant international experience
Demonstrable management and administrative experience
Proven ability to clarify priorities, set agendas, and move projects forward to completion
Able to build bridges with organizations and key individuals in and outside of The King's College
Competent at motivating individuals and teams to define and accomplish goals
Proven ability to fundraise
Spiritual and relational maturity
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
General office environment; normal mental concentration plus 2-4 hours per day.
