Church: First Baptist Church Laredo Category: Associate Pastor Denomination: Baptist - SBC Church Size: 200-350 Job Type: Full-Time JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION OVERVIEW: First Baptist Church Laredo, a vibrant and growing congregation in south Texas is seeking an Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Worship. The Associate Pastor will be responsible for overseeing all discipleship and worship activities at FBC Laredo. He will work directly with the Senior Pastor and will report to the Senior Pastor. This is a full-time salaried position. He must be passionate about equipping the local church theologically through both music, teaching, and mentoring. It is very important that this person be able to be a team builder, especially in the music ministry area. This man must be in agreement with the doctrinal convictions outlined in The 1963 Baptist Faith & Message. He should be a man of great integrity who has a growing, vibrant relationship with Christ. Also, he must meet Biblical requirements for a pastor outlined in 1 Timothy 3 & Titus 1. If he is married, his wife must be supportive of his call to ministry. KEY LEADERSHIP AREAS: Oversee and lead discipleship activities/programs of FBC Laredo; including, but not limited to: ○ Adult Sunday School / Bible Studies ○ Development of Personal Discipleship Program (1-1 mentorships) ○ Develop lay ministry by assisting people in identifying, developing, and using their gifts and talents in church ministry and service Oversee and lead/produce the music ministry of FBC Laredo Other areas as assigned by the Senior Pastor REQUIREMENTS RELATED TO DISCIPLESHIP:  Supportive and able to implement the Senior Pastor's vision for personal mentoring discipleship Work with the Senior Pastor in the integration/discipleship process Collaborate with other ministry leaders, as appropriate, to develop and expand the education ministry in the areas of age group ministries, outreach, discipleship, Vacation Bible School, and mission organizations Able to preach occasionally as requested by the Senior Pastor Is able to recruit, develop, teach and train volunteers and teachers Occasionally fulfill pastoral functions including preaching, crisis counseling, weddings, funerals, hospital/home visitation to the sick and homebound. Normally these functions are performed by the Sr. Pastor and lay persons.  Attend and participate in staff meetings, worship services, special events of the church, and other denominational activities REQUIREMENTS RELATED TO MUSIC: Assist the Senior Pastor in planning worship services and be responsible for selection and arrangement of music Ensure excellence in the preparation and presentation for the Sunday Morning Worship Gathering Promote unity by creatively bringing together an eclectic array of tastes (choir, band, hymns, and choruses) into one unified voice of worship for the living God Supervise the maintenance and additions of music materials, music library, supplies, instruments, lighting, and sound systems Is able to recruit, develop, teach and train music and a/v ministry volunteers Attend and participate in staff meetings, worship services, special events of the church; and other denominational activities ADDITIONAL INFORMATION  Start Date: Immediate Opening  Hours, Salary, Benefits: The position is full time.
