Message:Dear Jackie, I'm sure the board does not know what the congregation thinks. Tell the Pastor to put it to a vote next Sunday in the middle of the announcements. Let there be a show of hands of yea or nay of whether or not the people mind if you continue on a permanent basis as the primary worship leader of the church. Also, find a nearby musician or music store and ask someone to help you read and better understand music. Whether rock or Christian, they all use the same notes and music scales, so that you do not leave any weak points to be argued with there or anywhere else, now or in the future. Any person they bring in should be brought in to assist you. You seem to do well as the manager of the whole thing. People that read music do not necessarily know how to manage well. Often if they play keyboard, they center everything on themselves, they play louder than all other musicians and it becomes more of show than a worship service to the LORD. And when a technically 'professional' comes in, they are often more inflexible refusing to show up for adequate rehearsals during the week and yet collecting a paycheck. They also do not show up to non-performance services like prayer meetings etc. so they are not on one accord with the Pastor nor the ministry nor the vision of the church, usually they are only on one accord with whatever pay they're receiving. They also center songs around whatever is the latest thing they've heard on the radio and not because they've prayed about it, yielded to the Lord, nor thoroughly understand if the song is to the Lord or to the people. How can you worship with only songs instructing people what to do and not directed at all to the Lord? Many worship leaders do not have the depth that the church is probably receiving with you there. You are not in violation of any scripture. There are plenty of women in the bible in leadership positions not because they usurped authority or ran over or taught over a man to get there but rather because the LORD God appointed them. In the book of Judges, Prophetess Deborah was in authority over Israel --men, women, and children were subjected to her, she instructs Baraq about what to do to defeat the LORD's enemy. Prophetess Anna told both men and women about the birth of Jesus while in authority at the synagogue. You are a righteous woman, a daughter of Sarah (right spirit) not a daughter of Eve (given over to a fleshly spirit). The Holy Spirit ministers through you and is the one that placed gifts in you for His use. In the sight of God, they have no reason to shut you out. And that excuse about the congregation being offended is just an excuse. If they cannot show appreciation and respect of you, it is doubtful that God will ever give them anything more because they've failed in stewardship in the gift (you) that God has already placed in that church fellowship. I'm praying for you. God bless you, Taberah
