Jeannie,I can only speak from the point of view of my "native" denomination, but I would offer you some encouragement. Churches more and more are opening up to the idea of women leaders. First off, I am a male, but in my church there are many women leaders. Actually, every women in my church that serves in any capacity as a leader I have found to be very annointed for the call in which God has placed them.
Currently, I attend a "non-denominational" church. I feel our church is unique in that the people come from many types of backgrounds. Catholic, Episcopal, Lutheran, Baptist, Assembly of God, Church of God, United Pentecostal, Charismatic, etc. I personally come from a Charismatic, Assembly of God background.
Another thing, if you are feeling called of God to lead worship, and if your Pastor is in aggrement with this call, then in truth, it doesn't matter if the congregation is "accepting" of your leadership. You are the worship leader called by God for such a time as this. And with the support of a loving Pastor "YOU" can do what God has commanded you.
I pray that God will give you peace and direction.
In Christ
