Re: I could really use some help!
Message:You have the Holy Spirit with you 24/7, if you are saved. Living in fellowship with Him is praise and worship, not just a song service. So, what you are wanting for them is to have a musical and emotional experience, not the presence of the Holy Spirit. God inhabits the praise of his people (as a whole), not just the choir. Old people do not want to change. They grew up in a different, traditional era. This is natural for them to want a church home that feels like home, and reflects their ideas and convictions about how they worship. If you take that home feeling away from them, you will alienate them. I would not force it. Let them worship. just by living their daily life for Christ. Just my .02 from working in an older church myself.
