Message:Hi Deb,I am also a member of a small, very old church but we are blessed with a wonderful mix of both the old and young. I am far from being an expert on this subject but you could possibly start out smaller than a choir with perhaps a 5-6 member praise team. Find those in your church who have musical talent whether it be an instrument, or singing... and come together with the right attitudes and with hearts bursting with a desire to worship our wonderful Lord. Stick to singing some of the traditional hymns as well as introducing some of the lighter contemporary songs. Respectfully don't change too much too fast. Don't be surprised if things don't happen rapidly but eventually I think you will find that more will be open to participating in and accepting "special music" as another way of worshiping God!
