Do women worship differently?
Hello sisters! For years I was not a women who felt strongly about the need to have separate women's meetings (perhaps because I'm single). But a few months ago our church started monthly women's meetings and I have been blessed to be part of the worship team. Not exactly the leader, but they let me have some input. So I've been praying that I would be open to allow God to do for women in these meetings what may be difficult for Him to do in the general meetings. (Not that He couldn't, obviously, but because there may not be sensitivity and openness to certain things in the general meetings). For example, the leaders of the women's meetings want to create opportunities for women to explore their gifts and callings in a supportive atmosphere - where they're not intimidated by the guys who are already experienced in so many ministry areas. Now, I'm getting to my question: Have any of you noticed a difference in the way women worship? I've always thought that women tended to like more "mellow" music and men like the energetic praisy stuff - but I keep meeting women who don't fit that mold. It seems like there's something we could encourage that would bring freedom - but I can't put my finger on it! (I do have a friend - a guy - who's a worship leader who says that women are naturally better at worshiping because we already have a sense of what it means to be the bride of Christ! :-) ) Any thoughts? Thanks,Libby
