Message:Applause in church is not always appreciation to or praise to the musicians. Often it is a response of praise toward God for whatever they just heard or experienced. It's a way of saying, "Yes! We agree!". Based on your view of applause, no one should have come to you and communicated how powerful your song was either. Applause, be it verbal or with hands clapping, is not wrong. It's ok to say thank you, or wow, or good job. Obvisouly there's a difference between someone saying thanks and someone who's flattering you for the purpose of gaining influence with you. But, I believe that the greatest majority of those who applaud are simply responding to what has inspired them. Again, if there's something wrong with that, than no one should have responded to your song either.
