Sound Productions, Short Sound Systems, Full Compass, etc, etc are MUCH cheaper. A console is the heart of the system. There are generally two kinds of engineers that operate the heart. One is experienced and creative, the other watches levels. Do you want to have lots of function that an audio engineer can "use", or do you want something simple for volunteers to watch? Because, the choices are drastically different at times. You can buy great sounding consoles in either category. For a no-nonsens bit of advice, give me a call if you are serious.
