I am a survivor of adultery. My husband and I have now been married for 23 years, we have 3 wonderful children, all in their 20's but, it was not always this nice. As I hear you write, I can see that you do not see yourself as God sees and created you to be. You are beautifully and wonderfully made, shaped into the creation that came from the imagination of God Almighty. Over the years, words and actions of others have blinded you of this. The way you currently feel about yourself is a lie--you are loved by God and believe it or not, even though we have never met my heart has a special place just for you also. Commit yourself to Christ Jesus first and formost. When you love him with all your heart and soul, you will be able to deal with anything else in life. As for your husband...Pray...pray that God would change the heart of stone to a heart of flesh that loves Jesus more than anything. Lust is a spirit from hell, but when you have Jesus as you savior and Lord you have authority over all these spirits. The Bible says that no weapon of the devil can come against you and that every assignement of destruction that the devil has set, the LORD will condemn. The Bible says that you have power over all the power of the enemy and nothing can in any way harm you. The Bible says that greater is Jesus living in you and in your husband (if he is saved) than any other spirit from the world. The Bible tells us to pray against the power of the lust of the flesh, the pride of life (when they won't listen to us) and the lust of the eye (looking at others). The Bible says that if a person can control their eyes and their tongue, then they will have done right. Pray that God would give your husband an eye to see you as the one that God made just for him. Special and satisfying in every way.
Cynthia, When my husband confessed his failure to me, I thought my world was going to end...but it didn't. Jesus carried me through and taught me how to pray specifically for my own husband. He has never fallen again...and there have been opportunities but becuase God has his heart, he is no longer weak in that area. I pray that God will capture you and your husbands hearts. That you would both put Jesus first in your life because I know that is where your VICTORY lies
